Radio City is 50!

Radio City, now known as Hits Radio Liverpool broadcasts across the city of Liverpool and the greater Merseyside area in the UK.

The station first went on air on the 21st of October 1974, celebrating it’s 50th birthday on 21st of October 2024.

From the original studios in Stanley Street to the top of the iconic St Johns Beacon, hundreds of staff worked to make Radio City an essential part of listeners lives across Merseyside.

This site will be updated with pictures from the 50th Birthday Event, due to happen on Friday 18th of October.  We’ll also be updating with retro snaps from five decades of Radio City history.
